turn these fibres into…..🧙♀️💥⚡⚘
Last night I spun up my leftover sunshine mellow rambouillet fibre that I used in the mini skeins.
I’ve decided Im going to ply it with with another braid of Ramboulliet named red leaves that I also purchased from @cjpfibres…its so easy to spin this fibre..I think it might be my favourite fibre for 2019!.. 😊 More pics soon!
My work takes up so much of my day and then going to gym afterwards doesn’t leave much time in the evenings to do everything I want so spinning hasn’t been a priority lately.
I’ve been using most of my spare time practicing on my uke but this month I want to get back to spinning up this merino fleece that I started spinning in January and then start on some new spins.
It was Imbolc yesterday or the first day of Spring in the Celtic calendar but here in Australia its our last month of Summer and its getting stormy outside so I’m hoping it rains and I wont have to water my garden.
I planted some sunflower seeds last weekend and they have sprouted and grown so much in a week! I wonder if they’ll keep growing through Autumn? I hope so. I’ll transplant them out of this pot and into the garden bed soon as these ones are the giant variety.
Ok I’m off to enjoy my day, have a great Saturday xx
Yummy corriedale from @craftycatknittybits …

I’m making this yarn for a friend at work. I’m hoping it doesn’t have the barber pole effect too much when I ply it.
I also noticed on my Instagram last night that the first yarn I finished on January 1st 2018 was also made with blue and green fibres!
I’ve turned into the type of spinner that buys all these gorgeous fibres and then doesn’t have enough time on the weekend to ACTUALLY spin them!..
So no more wasting most of my weekend on Instagram..because I spend a heck of a lot of time looking at spinning, knitting, crochet, weaving etc that other fibre artists out there post.
So what did I buy… I bought some gorgeous handdyed fibres from The Shepherds Hut ..some are shetland and some are merino/bamboo..
Love em..now to spin them!
I’ve dug through my stash and decided tonight I’ll start spinning up these two braids of NZ Merino that I bought on Etsy from Heavenlywools.co.nz ..I think they’ll look good when plyed together..

Finally I have daylight and time to post a pic of my first finished yarn for TDF 2018. Heres Lucinda.. she measures 220.5meters, 12 to 13 wpi, weighs 90grams.
I 2plyed from 2 bobbins, one bobbin still has some single leftovers on it so I’ll add that in the next braid of this same fibre colourway that I spin, but I’m going to prep the next one different before spinning it.
finished my 3rd yarn today (the one in the middle) that I want to sell at the Beanie festival in July… I’m thinking of knitting a beanie now for the festival… I have more assorted fibres I can spin into yarn and I might knit a scrappy beanie made with them. 😉
